Do I even need a medicare supplement policy?

Well, the short answer yes. If you haven't heard, medicare part a and b have several coverage gaps that can easily add up to thousands of dollars from even just a short outpatient surgery. Medicare Part B for example has a 20% co insurance for outpatient care. This means that for an out patient surgery that costs $25000 your out of pocket would be at least $5000. These types of catastrophic medical expenses can cause great financial discomfort for most people.

By working with an experienced broker you can find a medicare supplement plan with a reasonable premium of about $120 per month. This medicare supplement policy is designed to pay those costly medicare gaps like the part B coinsurance of 20%. This means that instead of having an out of pocket cost of $5000 for your outpatient services, if you have the right medicare supplement plan, your out of pocket cost would only be the cost of your medicare supplement. In other words, all of your medicare gaps are paid by the medicare supplement plan leaving nothing left over to be paid out of your pocket.

This is just a very brief example how a medicare supplement can help save you thousands in medical costs. For more information feel free visit our contact us page to speak with one of our friendly medicare supplement specialists.
